Here is an exercise of a light versus heavy ball dropping to show how it can be obtained the illusion of heaviness and the illusion of a light object. Both of the balls are pushed from a shelf and as they are falling they will show a different weight through timing and spacing.
The heavy ball uses a shorter amount of time to show its weight because something heavy will not bounce as much, and will not spend too much time in the air. However, the light ball will bounce more and will spend more time in the air when it is at the top of the arc(because it will take more time to accelerate down).
