Semester 2 - week 5 - Non-human anatomy
This week is focused on the life drawing but on the non-human anatomy, which means on the animals or birds. I chose a finished drawing of the "man-eater" stuffed tiger from Leeds Museum, made with pastels on an orange coloured paper.
I chose the orange paper to help me with the colours of the tiger, and with pastels help I made the fur look like fur.
The focal point is the head and mostly the mouth part which is the most powerful contrasted. All the implied lines like the black marks of the fur and the circular shapes are driving the eye on the mouth and the head in general.
I tried to place the tiger using rule of thirds to make the composition more pleasant to watch but somehow because of the head which is so powerful visually the composition looks centered.
