Squash and stretch exercise - Ball and Dinosaur

This is a simple 1 second exercise that shows two different approaches of the squash and stretch principle.
The first one, applied on a ball (and exaggerated) to show the material and its reaction to a fall and touching the ground: when it falls the ball stretches creating the impression of motion blur, and when it touched the ground because of the impact the ball squashes from the top, and again stretches when it's going back in the air.
As for a living creature, because its body doesn't actually squashes and stretches like the ball, the illusion of it can be created using different positions like here on the dinosaur: when he falls, his feet are preparing for the impact and are stretched from the joints; same with the squash, his body is going down.

  1. I like how the two objects are differently affected by the squash and stretch and how this method is making clear that they are not made from the same material. The body of the creature is correctly affected by inertia and the parts that form the body are reacting accordingly to the action and follow a good movement .
