The story is based on the Pixar's intro with the lamp and I used my name as a text and some characters that I have used in the earlier projects this year.
I have planed this using pose to pose and after I was satisfied with the timing I used straight ahead method for the details. Timing and spacing are used to make the movement feel real, and with slow in and out I managed to do the spacing almost properly, though in some parts the animation feels a little bit floaty (mostly on the jumps). Motion trails helped me with the arcs and as well with the slow in and out because I've seen how the keyframes were spaced in the 3D space.
Squash and stretch are present more when the characters are anticipating a movement like a jump. I tried to make every anticipation long enough but in some parts where the dog is preparing to jump again could be longer. I also used overlapping action and follow through for example on the tail to make it look organic and with life.
The composition was quite difficult to set but I tried to maintain everything in the rule of thirds and I was constantly looking at the poses to make them read clearly using negative space. Because is a 2 characters shot I tried to make everything less confusing by arranging their movements in a way that drives the eye of the audience from a character to another, and using the secondary action to add more life.
I have exaggerated the movements and the timing of the dog to make it look and feel like a little dog who moves really fast and only wants to play and to imitate the lamp (because he has the cone that make it look like a lamp).
