Semester 1 - week 8 - Anatomy & proportion
For the first week of life drawing I made some quick sketches to get the feeling of drawing humans. Those are made to show different body types (standard, ideal, heroic) from different view points, and to exercise proportion based on the head as a unit.
Because there are a variety of body types there are also particular proportions for each one, for example a standard woman is 6 heads hight and a heroic man has 7- 8 heads in height.
Those sketches are made in pencil but the first and the second one are a little bit emphasized with a black pen to show the muscles and their shadow, and also to show the volume and what is in front and in the back. Although, in the third thumbnail I could have been done the same thing with the black pen because it represents standard body and most of the people have a little fat that could have been observed better if it was a shadow to make it be more visible.
Also, another thing that could make them stand out would be if I made a shadow underneath them to look that they are staying on the ground.
