This week is focused on how a static or a dynamic pose must maintain balance and how the weight is distributed. I have chose 2 finished drawings with a static poses and a series of sketches to show some dynamic poses.
All of them are made using 2,3,or 4B pencils which helped me to accentuate the shadows and the focal points.
The first 2 static poses are representing a man that is resting on a chair, and the majority of his body parts are describing vertical and horizontal lines which help maintain the balance and the friezed time feeling.
The series of sketches are not so detailed but the main lines and shadows are there to describe the dynamic feeling. A dynamic pose has more diagonal lines and are usually poses in that characters would only stay for a second in reality. It is important that they stay in balance even if they are in a moving position. This was the main challenge when I made this quick sketches and some of them are not really well balanced: for example the last one.
