Semester 2 - week 1 - Emotion and character in pose

The main focus in this task is the emotion that a pose is showing and how the position of the body is affecting the perception of the audience and as well the technique.
This drawing is made using a simple 3B pencil that shows a man who is upset, disappointed or is contemplating. I tried to chose a drawing that catches a simple and basic feeling so it could be read as clear as possible. I have used some simple lines to outline the overall silhouette and to show the volume using shadows in some parts. Because it's a simple emotion I wanted to make the drawing simple as well to emphasize that the emotion is related with the technique that I used. He is sad and the technique has the same attitude, made with a simple pencil with simple lines and it's only accentuated in the middle where is the focal point.
His position of the head and the arm that is resting on the leg are inducing the feeling of depression or that he has something heavy to carry on his shoulders.
